2001 Annual Dorer Ranch/Humbug Creek Backpacking Trip
This was the first year Aiden went. I started taking Richard III when he was 8 years old, and Aiden has been dying to go since about the time Richard was allowed to go. Now Aiden probably felt like dying on the trip. This is a difficult hike in that there is lot of elevation gain from river bottom to the top (Where the car is!), and the road is steep. No real technical backpacking expertise is necessary. No carins to follow, getting lost would be hard to do, just a pack mule like strength and mentality.
Trip Statistics: 1.5 Hours Down, 3.5 Hours up. (Approx 4.5 - 5 Miles one way). No gold found this year, barely even tried, very poor year for runoff.
